1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using the DMV Test Prep mobile application (the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use our Service.
2. Description of Service
DMV Test Prep is a study aid that helps users prepare for the written (knowledge) portion of a U.S. driver-license or learner-permit test. The Service includes:
- Practice Questions: Multiple-choice practice questions with explanations, organized by topic, for the supported state banks (California at launch) and a general all-states mode
- Road-Sign Practice: Questions built around standard U.S. road signs
- Study Modes: Untimed practice, timed tests, a time-boxed marathon mode, a curated daily set, and a daily challenge question
- Review Deck: A per-state collection of the questions you missed or saved, for re-practice
- Progress Tracking: Topic-level statistics, readiness and accuracy measures, streaks, and practice-day history
- Offline Use: All questions and images ship inside the app and work without an internet connection
- Practice Reminders: Optional daily reminders scheduled locally on your device
We may modify, suspend, or discontinue the Service or any part thereof at any time, with or without notice.
3. Educational Disclaimer — Not the DMV
Please read this section carefully. It is a condition of using the Service.
- Not affiliated with any government agency: DMV Test Prep is an independent study aid. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to the California Department of Motor Vehicles or any other state's Department of Motor Vehicles, department of transportation, or any government agency. "DMV" is used in its generic, descriptive sense — the department that administers driver-license tests.
- Not the official test: The practice questions are original educational content written to help you study. They are not actual questions from any official examination, and the number, wording, format, and difficulty of questions on your real test will differ.
- Based on public sources, but rules change: Our content is based on publicly available official sources, such as state driver handbooks and the federal Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices. Traffic laws and handbook content change. Your state's current official driver handbook and your local DMV are the authoritative sources — always rely on them for the actual rules.
- No guarantee of results: Practicing with the Service does not guarantee that you will pass any test, obtain a permit or license, or achieve any particular score.
- Not legal advice: Nothing in the Service is legal advice about traffic law or any other matter.
